about me

I (they/them) am an independent animation artist/educator and a recent arrival to the Coast Salish territories/Vancouver from K’jipuktuk/Halifax.

At the heart of my animation is story. I start with a question, and through research, animate a perspective that is overlooked or misrepresented. My MFA thesis exhibition Cahun and Moore: Unframed (2015) was presented as an immersive experience, challenging the way I had previously presented animated stories. Here, my animated documentary reached a new audience by projection mapping larger-than-life animated sequences along 3 gallery walls.

My films have screened at festivals around the world, including Hot Docs in Toronto, Tricky Women in Austria and Air Canada’s EnRoute. My animated short, Mary & Myself (NFB) was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award in 2014. Most recently I’ve been exploring Augmented Reality (AR) animation as a new way of storytelling.
